Alice, an 11-year-old bi-racial girl, and her father Grant, struggle to rebuild their life in small-town Ontario after the passing of her mother. As the pair navigate their own challenges, including Alice going to a predominantly white school and her father’s alcoholism, they are forced to confront a past that is blocking them from moving forward.
