Laurie Townshend

 

Laurie Townshend is a director, writer, and educator. A former middle school teacher, she transitioned into filmmaking in 2013 with her short film The Railpath Hero. Townshend’s debut documentary feature A Mother won the Best Canadian Film, the audience award for Best Documentary Film, and Best First Feature Film at the 2024 Inside Out Film and Video Festival.
