Selwyn Jacob is a pioneering filmmaker and producer. Graduating from USC film school in a time when there were few opportunities for Black filmmakers in Canada, he worked as a teacher in Alberta before getting the chance to make his first film. Jacob’s prolific film career included working alongside and mentoring many artists as a producer for the National Film Board of Canada (NFB).
