In 2013, 76 years after tens of thousand of Haitians and Dominicans of Haitian descent were exterminated by the Dominican army due to anti-Black racism, the Dominican Republic’s Supreme Court stripped the citizenship of anyone with Haitian parents. The ruling, retroactive to 1929, left more than 200,000 people stateless. This documentary follows attorney Rosa Iris as she faces an uphill grassroots battle to protect citizenship for all people.
